A Hosted License or an In-House License - what works best for you?
Skyline Hosted, Start & Premium all deliver the full Skyline functionality. This includes features such as the ability to select from a range of “ready to go” web page themes or create your own bespoke design and maintain full control of your day to day web page content as you require. All our licenses deliver full functionality so you do not need to worry about what features to order, it is all included for an unlimited number of users. All you need to decide is:
a) What server you wish it to run from, yours (Skyline Start or Premium) or ours (Skyline Hosted)?
b) If it is yours, will you need to integrate with internal systems such as Domain Servers and account databases? If so, Skyline Premium is the option to choose.

Skyline Hosted
Skyline Hosted service avoids the need to provide your own Windows Server. It therefore has lower set up costs and the potential to deliver a more rapid deployment. In addition, because our Hosted service is run from a multiple Server farm, which is designed to cope with fluctuations in demand, it ensures a level of resilience that would be expensive to replicate in-house.
Users gain access to the service by registering a username and password in a way that is familiar to anyone who has used the internet for shopping or similar services.
The Skyline supporting applications, PrintStation™, ProductManager™, PriceManager™ and TemplateManager™ are downloaded from your hosted portal to your Windows PC in the normal way. Additional portals (web pages) and Print Stations can be quickly set up as required.

Skyline Start
The Skyline Start license in an excellent "first step" option for in-plant Print Rooms who prefer to run their web service from an internal source rather than an external hosted service.
The Skyline Start Server software can be installed on either a Windows XP/7 PC or a Windows Server. It offers a full suite of features and like all Skyline licenses can be used by an unlimited number of customers who can submit as many jobs as they wish.
As your business grows Skyline Start can be easily migrated to a Premium license to enable additional web portals, PrintStations and advanced network integration with accounting systems, domain servers and other associated workflows.

Skyline Premium
Skyline Premium is an on-site license installed on Windows 2003/8 Server. This environment gives full scope for expansion and network integration.
If it is important that users are automatically given access to the service without the need to log on each time, such as on many commercial sites, then this option is recommended. The ability to do this is often referred to as Single Sign on or LDAP.
You may also wish to link up to an internal database to gather account information and for security reasons this this will probably be more acceptable to your IT Department with Skyline installed on an in-house Server within your secure firewalls.
Additional portals (web pages) can be licenced for customised services to different customer groups and further Print Stations to enable you to manage your printing service across multiple Print Rooms.
